I won't go length on the impressive feature list and will let you read the new feature page and see the screenshots.

For those who followed the development and the various intermediate versions that were released, here is what's new since version 2.0 RC1:

  • The administration interface was refreshed and the new logo implemented;
  • Preview posts directly in the blog context;
  • New language manager to easily install new languages;
  • New import/export plugin to import Dotclear 1.2 and Wordpress blogs (other engines to come);
  • Enhanced SQLite support

The very first lines of Dotclear 2 were written 1040 days ago. There have been 2200 code changes and 326 tickets closed. In the meanwhile the documentation got written and, at the beginning of this year, theme and plugin repository Dotaddict was launched.

These 1040 days were not always easy, and saying we went through periods of doubt is clearly an understatement. But anyway, here we are, Dotclear 2.0 is out, it works incredibly well and we must say we're quite proud of it.

I would like to take the opportunity to personally thank all the members of Dotclear's team and all the forum moderators. They're doing a wonderful job, launched Dotaddict and continuously help making Dotclear a better tool.

Thanks to the young translation team, especially Takafumi who made a Japanese translation in a blink of an eye.

Thanks a lot to all the users who contributed, suggested patches or opened tickets since the Release Candidate. I'm thinking of euskaraz, Chty, zeiram, sacha and the others I'm probably forgetting.

And thank to the one who's sharing my life, encouraged me many times, gave me her opinions and showed much patience.

This version is called Můstek and I'll let you guess what it means :)

In a few days, we will tell you what to expect next. For the moment, please download, install and try Dotclear 2.0.
