Dotclear 2.1.3 is available for download. This version fixes the problem found in the automatic update process and adds some more attributes and template tags.
Automatic update
The process had a serious problem as it was only possible to update your Dotclear version once. Not very useful, we agree.
So the update system was partially reviewed to fix the problem, and improved in the process.
Unfortunately, you can't update your 2.1 or 2.1.1 version with the new system as it contains the previous one. I tried to find a way for you to enjoy the new system, but it was much more complicated to implement it (for you) than to simply update your blog using the traditional method. So you'll have to wait for 2.1.4 (or 2.2) to try it.
The new update system will also allow those interested to update to the intermediate versions (nightly, beta, RC...). We will tell you more about this when the time comes.
New tags and attributes
We added some more tags and attributes for your templates:
- url on tpl:EntryIf so you can test a specific post (e.g. to change its template, display a specific text, etc.).
- only_category on tpl:Blogroll to display a specific category from your blogroll. This feature is available in the blogroll widget since version 2.1.
- no_context on tpl:Pagination lets you force pagination anywhere.
- new tag tpl:BlogID is used to display the url of your blog.
And more
A few bugs were fixed too, including the insertion of an incomplete HTML code for videos in Internet Explorer 7.
Finally, a minor XSS breach was fixed. The breach happened at a time when the user was not connected and would have required to click on a bad link. We still recommend you update to 2.1.3, of course :)
